The health condition of music maestro Ustad Rashid Khan remains to be critical. Khan, 55, is undergoing treatment in a city hospital for prostate cancer and other chronic ailments, said an official.
“His health condition remains more or less the same. He is still under observation in the critical care unit. Due to some chronic disease and age-related ailments he remains critical,” a health staffer said.
Khan belongs to the Rampur-Sahaswan Gharana and is the great-grandson of gharana founder Inayat Hussain Khan. Khan is winner of Sangeet Natak Akademi Award. He has also received Padma Bhushan. He has sung numerous popular songs in Bengali and Hindi films such as ‘My Name is Khan, Kadambari, Manto, and Mitin Mashi. He is best known for the heart-touching ‘Aaoge Jab Tum Saajna’ from the movie Jab We Met.
